PILGRIMAGE TOUR TO SENDANGSONO

(03 Days 02 Nights)

Day 1: TRANSFER IN – GANJURAN TEMPLE CHURCH OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS (LUNCH)
Welcome to Yogyakarta. We will pick you from the Adisucipto Airport or Tugu Train Station and bring you to a local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the Ganjuran Temple Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Bantul,. which was built in 1912 in the shape of a unique ancient temple with a statue of Jesus in the center. You may join the prayer and the cross bearing walk procession. In the evening, it’s free time.

Day 2: SENDANG SONO – ROMO SANJAYA – BOROBUDUR (B,L)
We visit the Cave of Mother Mary in Sendangsono, a pilgrimage tour destination of more than 100 years old. You can follow a cross bearing procession, and pray by the statue of Mother Mary, followed by a visit to the largest ancient Buddist temple in the world: Borobudur. After lunch, we will head back to Yogyakarta to visit the burial place of Romo ( Father) Sanjaya, a local martyr at the first period of evangelization. Afterwards you may opt to buy “salak pondoh” – a tasty native seasonal fruit dubbed snake-skin fruit for its scaly skin protecting the juicy and sweet fruit inside.

Day 3: TRANSFER OUT (B)
Free time. Before we take you to the Adisucipto airport or Tugu train station, you will have opportunity to purchase moer “oleh-oleh” or gifts of local delicacies and treats.
